This Montana fall boho elopement in was a dream! From the fall foliage, tall grass and boulders of Little Smith Creek Ranch, to the florals and all of the other amazing little details, this elopement photoshoot was everything I wanted it to be and more… romantic, moody, bohemian, dreamy!
After my trip to Palm Springs, I felt (and still feel) so inspired to build my portfolio and help others build theirs. I have been wanting to slowly seep into the world of education and mentorship for photographers. As a result, I opened up a content photoshoot to other photographers in our area to take photos for their portfolios.
The hours spent planning every detail, hand selecting vendors I trust was as huge process. I sent photos to friends getting opinions and fine-tuning every detail… I might be a little bit of a perfectionist. In the end, I bring you this: Burnt orange, light teal blue, fall color scheme, tassels and dramatic lace, hippie sunglasses, dried flowers and air plant heaven, wooden beads and tassels… all the vibes!
Honestly, if you have ever been to my home…this photoshoot encapsulates what my home is like. Some of these items pictured are, in fact from my apartment…including my dog. I love Fall and I wanted to create something that would scream fall colors and BOHO!!
September 23rd arrived and I was so pumped! After getting myself ready, I went and got breakfast before the big day at the Catalyst (something I like to do before a wedding or big event). From there, I went to pick up the gorgeous cake from my friend Jess at Black Cat Bakery here in Missoula. They did an amazing job! Then, I went home and loaded up my car thinking to myself, don’t forget this and that. I left and as soon as I got to the venue, I realize… I forgot my camera! THE ONE THING I NEEDED THE MOST… I FORGOT! Haha! As you can imagine, the panic attack commenced. Luckily, my friend Shayna saved me and picked it up for me as she was passing through town.
After experiencing the panic attack that I eventually had to ignore, I was greeted by Don at Little Smith Creek Ranch (who is so, so nice and helpful) as I headed to the content shoot spot of the venue..the boulders! Kristen from Agile Goat Flower Shop and I set up everything just in time for the models and photographers to arrive and start capturing the goodies!
All in all, it went just the way I wanted it to! Smooth sailing. I loved that the vendors got to meet each other and get acquainted. I love when the wedding industry cultivates a sense of community over competition, which was one of my goals with this experience.
The last thing I want to say is thank you! Thank you so much to the vendors involved that made my dream/vision come to life. Everything was beautiful!
