Cozy Cabin Elopement in Mt. Rainier, Washington

I have been on this journey to travel more for 2 years now. I finally had an excuse to explore the beauty of Washington with this styled cozy cabin elopement in Mt. Rainier and it did not disappoint! It was everything we wanted and more.

The Journey to Mt. Rainier

Elsa with Elsa Eileen Photography and I decided to be travel buddies this year to explore beautiful places and take photos to build our portfolios. Our goal is to become familiar with other areas so that we will know how to guide future couples. Mt. Rainier and photographing an A-frame cabin was on both of our bucket lists so we started planning! We found this AirBNB and dreamed up our vision, teamed up with some amazing vendors and watched our vision come to life.

About the Couple

Alexandra and Matt met us in WA to model for us. They love to be outside, hiking, scouting, checking out new breweries and staying active with their 3 puppies.

How they met:

“As the story goes we both were living in Bozeman at the time, and actually lived a stone throw away from each other but didn’t know it. After chatting it up for a couple of days Matt was quick to ask about going on a date, and of course, I said yes because I for sure had a crush on him already. We scheduled our date and I was so excited! I can’t speak for him but I think he was pretty excited too. After all, we ended up meeting for a beer a couple of days before our first date because he “just couldn’t wait” (cute, right?) 🙂

Our actual first date

We went to Daves Sushi and a PechaKuchaat the Ellen Theare downtown. The sushi and the show were amazing and we had a lot of fun, but it felt like one of those awkward movie scenes when Matt gave me a side hug straight out of a rom-com movie when we went our separate ways lol. I thought for sure I wasn’t going to hear from him again, and soon after I learned he was taking a job back home in WA and that he was leaving in a week. We both agreed we wanted to keep talking and spending time together. So we did!

The dreaded weekend was approaching and his friends were on their way to Bozeman to help him pack up and move some of his things to Washington. Matt threw me the invite to hang out with him and his best friends for one last night in Bozeman, I wanted to spend more time with him so I didn’t even give it a second thought. We went to some breweries, and a couple of local bars to play pool, and with some liquid courage, came a first kiss!

While we were at one of the breweries, he told me he had a second date idea. He asked if I would come to Seattle for a weekend, bought me a plane ticket that night and by the next weekend I was off to spend a weekend in Seattle! We did all the tourist stuff, including cheersing over some oyster shooters and riding the great wheel.

Since then, we have shared so many adventures together, and we can’t wait to celebrate our biggest one yet surrounded by our loved ones.”

Favorite Part of the Shoot

My favorite part of the day was meeting my wedding clients for this year. I will be photographing their actual wedding in July! I also loved watching how everything came together and watching how our hard work came to life and paid off.

Alexandra said her favorite part was the macaroons! Haha!
